Although often known as the Hospital Car Service this service isn't just for those all important medical appointments: dentists, opticians, doctors or hospitals and similar but for a lot more besides.

The Arundel Car Service

Manned By Volunteers

The scheme is entirely manned by volunteers and we are indebted to them and the generosity of their time in order to carry out this essential service. As a result, there may be occasions when we are unable to meet all the requests for vehicles and where instances of this happen we will advise at time of booking.

So who is the service for ?

Although the service is primarily used for medical appointments it can also be used by anyone for all, or any, of the following reasons:

* Those who have a disability.

* Those who have restricted mobility.

* Anyone living in an isolated area, not served by public transport.

* Where transport needs are not met by pre-existing public transport timetables.

* For those who are temporarily unable to access public transport due to short term illness or disability.

* To visit friends and family.

* Meet a family member or friend for lunch.

* Be taken on holiday with your family or carer and collected after your break.

* Visit places of interest.

* Be taken to, or collected from, an airport, a railway station, the docks or a bus station.

In fact, anything and anywhere someone needs to go and cannot get there using conventional transport. Please note, this service is not a taxi service, it is a voluntary car service and is totally dependent on a volunteer driver being available so we would ask that at least 48 hours prior notice is given to us prior to booking wherever possible.
